Mouth-watering, juicy, scrumptious, lick your lips good....

Burgers from TGIF. Yuuuuum.
No, I'm not indulging in on one of those puppies today, even though it does happen to be Friday. I can dream about it though!

Not too many exciting things have been happenin my way the past couple days & I'm havin trouble makin myself sound interesting so I just stayed off of blogger. But I'm back now! Off to try to win some more giveaways! Ya know, I've been blogging for a month (as of today!) and have won 4 giveaways already! Gooo meeee!!

Tonight, kids are with Nana & Papa and where am I? On the computer. Upstairs. Bored. No plans! Yep, such is the life of a young mommy. Or maybe any mommy for that matter.

I've ran 3x since I started last week & I'm still lovin it. Went out last night for 25 mins which is the longest time so far, of course I didn't RUN the whole time, are you kidding me?? But I went pretty far, too far, I think...because I had trouble on my way back, felt like my lungs were gonna burn a hole through my chest.

Like I mentioned in my Run, Megan, Run! post, a friend of mine named Vanetta inspired me to run. In turn, I have also inspired a couple of my friends to start running! So in honor of all that inspiration crap, I have started a Facebook group for runners everywhere! But you can ONLY join if you are going to really do it, no slacking allowed! It is called Runners 'R' Us. Join if you run too!

I'm soooo excited about tomorrow, I might not be able to sleep tonight! We are going to the Pittsburgh zoo!! I don't even remember when I last went to a zoo...I think it's been at least 10 years. My 4 yr old has never been so he is so psyched. He asked me if we were going to see dinosaurs there. I had to give him the bad news on that one.

So I'm hookin up with a few Friday follows on this post. Follow me, I can follow you, let's follow each other!

My baby boy is 4??

Christopher.
7/27/06 @ 7:20 pm
9 lbs 3.9 oz
19 inches

Happy birthday my baby boy!

I cannot believe you're 4 years old today.

Wow.

I remember when you were first born, you have always been a pistol, a challenge.
But that only makes the memories greater.
How can I forget going 11 days overdue because you were too stubborn to come out?
You waited until 2 hrs before the induction!
How can I ever forget your crying for 6 months straight & the Dr's telling me it was colic?
But I knew better.

You have always been my stubborn boy, but I believe it will only benefit you one day.
You will be persistent, strong, & confident. You are one of a kind.

1st birthday

I miss you bein so little. You never have been a cuddly bug, you are too busy exploring, studying, learning & being the independent guy you are.

Wow we look so young here! Christmas '07.

2nd birthday...you can get a jist of his personality here! Hehe!

And from this mornin, his birthday (from my phone because I can't upload from my cam!)

With his brand new Incredibles costume & "Dash" hat. He was so thrilled. Said, "I've been wishin for this for a long time!" So sweet. It takes alot to get him excited about something!

Even though you exasperate your mama, I love you dearly. It's the only thing that keeps me goin every day. I hope you know that, sweetie. Love you so very much & I'm glad you had a happy birthday!

I'm not lame, I promise!

Is lame even a cool word anymore? That makes me feel old even having to ask if something is cool anymore. Like I'm 60 or something.

Oh well, anyway...I promise I'm not lame. I don't know when or how I will be uploading pictures to my blog unless they are done by webcam or mobile because my USB adapter is broke on my camera and now my computer has decided to cramp my style & let the memory card port thingy break! What is UP with that? I'm sad.

A few updates....

The cake balls are absolutely divine! I think it might be my new traditional "holiday" treat. It sure was a pain in the butt to make those, lemme tell you!! Tooooo time consuming, which is why I will only do it for the holidays! I mean, who needs time around the holidays, right?

The cake for Chris' birthday....NOT so great. um, yeah. It tasted yummy, yes. After all, it was only an instant cake mix. Decoration to it was frighteningly pathetic. I've never done such a bad job! Trying to do an Incredibles logo didn't work out in my favor. I didn't know that the cheapy food coloring wouldn't be able to turn my icing red! So it was pink. Then I wasn't able to find a black "gel" to line the edges so I bought a squeeze package of "cookie icing" figuring it would be my easiest bet. Not so much. All the colors blended together, everything goo'ed all over. Yuck, not pretty. No one will be seeing pics of that anytime soon!! However, I did take a picture for memories...

Chris had a great lil 4th birthday party! The day wasn't so good leading UP to the party but whatever. I'm over it now. Maybe I need a couple more Valium & then I'll be completely over it. *shudder* He LOVES the Incredibles (And boy they are hard to find!!) but my husband & I & nana & papa all were able to find him some random Incredibles things. He got the DVD, a book, a personalized shirt, stickers, and a bunch of the figurines from my mom. (We found the figurines for .5 cents at a yard sale! And I mean .5 for like 8 of them! He was psyched!) I found an Incredibles costume just like in the movie for $1 at a yard sale! We are frugal, yes. I also got him 6 more Pixar Cars cars to add to his collection, he has a ton of those things. I think I may just love them more than he does...

I also have a review & giveaway coming up so stay tuned! It's gonna be a good one!

GTKY Sunday! How dare I forget!

No way could I forget the GTKY. Ta-daaaa!

Here it is! If you wanna do it, too, head to Keely @ Mannlands, grab the q's & link up after! Oh & visit a few of the linkups, maybe even follow them??

1. Thong or Granny Panties?
I hate to admit it, but "granny panties". Although I do not use that horrid name. And they're not ugly, TYVM!

2. If you see a guy with his fly down, do you tell him?
No way, I would probably wait til he walked by & then laugh like crazy.
What?? Workin at Walmart makes a person mean, what can I say?

3. Spanx or no Spanx?
No spanx. I just don't wear super tight clothes, gee wiz!

4. Do you sleep in your sheets?
Yes! Unless it's like 95+ in my room, I must have a blanket covering me. I just feel...weird & lost without it.

5. What is your favorite Disney character?
Hmm, not really sure. I just follow what Chris watches. I'll go with Lightning McQueen.

6. Dream vacation spot?
Oh my, anywhere!!! I'll be lucky if we even get a vaca NEXT year (we've never had one!) so anywhere would be wonderful. If I had to choose the best spot...probably Cancun, Bahamas, Italy....

7. What is your dream job?
There's a few. I've always dreamed of singing....but that will never happen.

{If you wanna hear a lil snippet of me singing, go here!!}
2nd- Lactation consultant.

3rd- Pharmacist

4th- Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.

All but the last will never happen!

8. Who is your hero and why?
Jesus is my hero. Because he died for me!! Who else can/will do that?!?

Cake balls & more cake...

Yum. Cake balls.

Actually, I've never had 'em but don't they sound yummy??

I found em on the net & I'm attempting them tonight...waiting for them to freeze so I can coat em.

I'll let you know how it tastes!!

Sorry I haven't been posting much, worked my 7th day today. Last day tomorrow before a day off.

Gotta bake again (where is this gonna fit in my schedule??) before Tues for Chris' bday cake.

This is the cake I'm gonna aim for...

If I can even make it look halfway decent, I'll be okay with that. I'm kind of a perfectionist though so I might rip out my hair somewhere between decorating it....

Totally stressing about finances lately. Something drastic has to change in our lives but we're not sure what's best yet. Eek....not good. I just wish my hubby could graduate already & get a good job!!!

Also.....

Check out my friend, Jenn @ Peace.Love.Mommy's blog giveaway, a super cute gift pack from Marriott International! Ends 8/8

Anyway, I'm off to finish my cake balls. I'll update when I'm done & let ya know just how yummy in your tummy they are! Have a great Monday tomorrow!

(Boy was this a randomly interesting post or what??...)

Run, Megan, Run!!

So, I finally got off my lazy fat butt & went running tonight.

Literally the first time in over 5 years.

So pathetic, right??

And I wanna send a giant SHOUT-OUT to my friend, Vanetta, for the inspo!

We may have never met & we may live tons of miles apart but you still inspired me to get out there.

I kept putting it off...well, honestly, first I didn't have running shoes or ANY other sneakers
for that matter. So I got another pair...

Then I didn't have any sports bras....so I finally got those today! (3 pk for $11 at Walmart, hecks yeah!)

Then I kept wakin up to my annoying alarm at 5:30 & passin right back out so I thought, fine, I'll try it at night.

And OMG.

This was me right after....

Pure happiness. Bliss. Energy. Oh yeah, & I was a sweaty pig.

But sooo what???

It felt aaaawesome. & I can't wait to do it again!!

Hopefully I can drop 10 lbs, that's all I wanna lose. I don't even know what I weigh at the moment, haven't weighed myself in a good 6 months.

Hmm, now I need to buy a scale....

Stay tuned, maybe I'll start a weight loss meme!

Pour Your Heart Out: Love is patient.

I had a moment today that just happened to be on 'pour your heart out' day, and boy do I need to.

This morning started like any other, kids wakin me up at 6:30am, beggin for food the moment we hit the bottom step, fighting over what cereal, whining about sitting at the dining room table instead of the living room, complaining about having milk instead of juice....*sigh* Nuff said.

My mornings are my least favorite part of my day. First of all, I'm definitely no morning person. I keep thinking that it really does make more sense to get up before the kids, get my shower & coffee in & a little prayertime so I'm not immediately annoyed. However, since my kids get up at 6:30, I'd have to get up at at least 5:30 & when that alarm starts singin', I look outside at the still dark sky & roll right back over.

So I guess it's all my fault.

Anyway...I was busy all morning just gettin ready for work. Showering, dressing, makeup, hair...kids dressed, fed, bags packed, lunch packed, etc....

Chris had his now-ever-constant *almost* 4 attitude about him & had already been in timeout once. Wouldn't leave Noah alone, they're both screaming, whining & I'm honestly not even sure what made me snap for sure. Probably a mixture of all of the above. But I literally (not proud of this at all....) jumped up & down & screamed out loud for them to "SHUT UP & LISTEN TO ME!" They both stopped & stared. I demanded that they get their shoes on because we were LATE! (which was their fault, of course, because Chris *had* to finish coloring & cutting out a picture for a kid at daycare before we left) I was so angry, so frustrated, I just couldn't take anymore. I then had to turn away & let a few tears run down my cheeks while they got their shoes & mumble to myself, "I just can't do it anymore. I just can't."

Once in the car & driving to the sitters, Chris is glumly staring out the window & I wanna kick myself for acting like such a fool in front of my own child. I apologize for acting that way & tell him that I was only angry because we were running late. He asks, 'But why did you jump?' It made me smile but at the same time, broke my heart.

I think these thoughts alot & I wonder if it's even normal sometimes. Every day, I feel at the brink of insanity. The weirdest thing is that work is my solitude. Being at work is the most peaceful place I can be. I definitely don't LIKE work, but it's very peaceful. Even when I'm busy out the butt, I'm in my 'zone'. People can complain, whine & yell at me, but I'm in control. Ya know?

My kids make me feel out of control. And I hate that feeling.

When I have mornings like this, I see kids with their parents while I'm at work & I feel terrible for how angry I was at mine that very morning. I wanna go pick em up & give them a hug & kiss.

Today, I had a customer who has something disabling her, making it hard for her to walk correctly. So she comes up to the register & I'm handing her medicine to her & notice tattoos on her wrists. I ask her what they say...

Her left wrist says, "Love is patient." Her right one says, "Love is kind." I compliment her on how pretty they are & she leaves.

I thought about her long after though. I just kept thinking of my kids & how impatient I can be with them. Love is patient, love is kind. How I need to remember that. Maybe I need to tattoo them on *my* wrists so they can never go unnoticed. I hope I can remember this for tomorrow morning....

Oh everytime I close my eyes, I see Xboxs' shiny lights....

Time to brag about my hunny!! My husband is attending school for electronic engineering, but long before he was, he started playing around with xboxes. First, he just repaired them (the ring of death, dvr drive, error codes, etc)...now he has opened up his expertise to modding, painting, & installing lights. He cuts the cases, DVD drives, hard-drives, etc and installs LED lights inside. He rapid fire mods Xbox controllers (can also do Playstation) & installs special colored LED's in them as well. I'm so proud of him even if he does drive me absolutely insane with all of his crap everywhere all the time.

Here are a few of his most recent designs...

Yes. A Steeler's themed Xbox & controller. This is already sold.

And my personal fav...

Yes, he did that water-drop design himself! SO awesome.

Anyway, those are just a few. He has the brand spankin new Xbox 360 SLIM on Ebay right now, he bought it new, modded it & is selling it! So if you know of anyone who would totally love it, pass the word on. I'll love you forever.

Here's his xbox profile for more info. Ignore the few negative feedbacks, he had some misunderstandings...he really is a great seller!

Got2B Smooth Operator Review & Coupon Giveaway!

We didn't think it was possible, but göt2b® smooth operator smoothing lustre lotion just got smoother. Thanks to an ingenious formula upgrade, this decadent lotion now contains cashmere, prized for its luxuriously lightweight and irresistibly soft properties. How smooth is it? Imagine a baby chick, draped in velvet, on a silky down pillow in the middle of a cloud and you're almost there. göt2b® smooth operator smoothing lustre lotion shapes, smoothes, controls fly-aways and gives your hair an amazing weightless lustre that's touchably soft. Plus it protects against damage from heat styling and contains a UV protectant, too.

I received this adorable bottle of goodness during a BzzAgent campaign that I signed up for. I volunteered to try it out & give my opinion. So here's the scoop...

First of all, isn't it just the cutest lil' thing? The packaging is flirty, pretty & inviting. You just wanna try it once you lay your eyes on it. The charm is very unique, too!

A little background here- My hair is actually very soft & healthy, it's always been that way. (Are you jealous?) So I'm not sure if you can absolutely go by my review here. The first time I used the lustre lotion, I towel-dried my hair & pumped one pump into my hand, smoothed it through- then continued to blow-dry & flat-iron my hair. I honestly didn't notice any difference whatsoever. (It smells really good though!)

The next time I tried it, I dried & flat-ironed, THEN applied the product through my pre-styled tresses & I did notice that it kept the fly-aways down. I usually only get them along my part so I made sure to apply the product up there. Unfortunately, this product isn't a necessity for me so I'm not sure if I would purchase it for myself. I'm gonna keep trying it out though!

However, my mom & several other friends of mine were given samples & all had great opinions!

Price:

It retails for apx. $5.49 depending on what store. At my Walgreens, it was $6.49.

BUT wait, there's more!

If I can get 40 comments (one for every follower I currently have!), I will draw a random winner via Random.org & give away a $2.50 off coupon!

So give me loads & loads of comments & you may get lucky! Yes, I'm greedy!! :D

Contest open to anybody 18+ in the US only. You must be following me via GFC to participate!
Only 1 comment per blog, please. If you have more than one blog, then you're in luck!

Giveaway ends this Friday, July 23rd, so hurry up & spread the word!

*This product was given to me free of charge by Bzzagent.com. I was not paid for this review & the opinion is solely my own.

GTKY Sunday with 2 of my own questions! Awesome!

Iiiiiit's Sunday!! And this week is super special at GTKY Sunday at Mannlands because *I* helped with the questions! I'm excited that I was able to participate in a bigger way this week! Thanks for choosing my 2 questions, Keely!!!

I have to give a shout out to the 4 peeps that came up with the questions..Tami at Talking with Tami, Tanii at Ethnically Ambiguous, Megan at Everyday Mama (your's truly!!), and April at A Kingly Affair. Thank you so much ladies!!

If you'd like to participate, head over to Keely @ Mannlands, copy the questions, answer em & go back to link up!!

1. If you had to choose a country to live in besides USA (or the country you live in), which would it be?

I think it would probably be France or Italy. I've never gone out of the US but they seem like lovely places.

2. Which would be worse, wearing flip flops in the snow or wearing gloves in the summer?

Wearing gloves in the summer for me! I have the most embarassing always-sweaty-hands. My hands even sweat when I'm cold!! YUCK.

3. Fried or Bake and why?

Baked usually, because I know how bad fried food is & I def don't need the extra poundage.

4. If you were an entertainment reporter, which celeb would you love to interview and why?

I would love to chat with Kathryn Heigl, she seems so down to earth & she's gorgeous. As for men, definitely Dane Cook, Zac Efron, & (notice I didn't say 'or') Shia Lebaouf....and um, just because they are HOT & seem pretty cool too.

5. What was your favorite book as a preteen/teenager?

Preteen it was Babysitters Club & then moved to Sweet Valley High & Lurlene McDaniel's series.

6. List your top 3 guilty pleasure television shows.

I honestly have none. I hardly ever get to watch TV & when I do, it's usually a movie.

7. What bumper sticker slogan best describes you/your attitude/your life?

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Just hearing that boosts my spirit!

8. If you were to join a circus - what performer would you be?

Do they have dancers? I would be one of those....even if they didn't. I'd be a new act!

Blog Bash Challenge #5- Love for my mama.

Blog Bash

Writing a post dedicated to my lovely mommy! :)

I don't even know if my mom reads my blog but she just might if I mention that I wrote about her. Haha.

My mom is an amazing, strong, woman & I'm so very glad she is my mama. I've been so blessed. She raised me up as a single mama to be the woman I am today & I'm so proud of it. She gave up everything just to give me what I needed/wanted & always made sure I was grateful for what I had. She raised me to be unselfish, loving, caring & respectful. She taught me my work ethic, my Christianity, & to always to be myself, NOT to fall in line with my peers. She taught me to never take crap from people who don't deserve it, to fight for what you believe in & to never take disrespect from a man.

I don't know what I'd do without my mama in my life. She has scared me many times with her health problems & I don't know what I'll do when she ever leaves me. I know that kids are inevitably going to lose their parents, unfortunately it's something every child has to do, and it kills me to know she won't always be around.

Nana & Papa are staples for my kids, what would they do without visits from Nana & Papa?? Overnight stays at Nana's house, bagpipe practice & parades with Papa, garage saling with Nana, the list goes on....

My mom is the best any girl could ask for. She is ALWAYS there anytime I need her, I never doubt that she won't help me out. She is the most giving person I've ever met. This post is making me cry with each paragraph, I'm such a pansy...haha!

I love you so much, Mom. Live forever, kay??

(This pic is terrible but is sadly the most recent I have of us two together since she hates pictures! This was my 21st bday, I was preggo & we were both sweaty & hot! LOL)

Just a few real-life convos from my favorite kids.

We sit down for breakfast and after eating a few bites of my cereal, I realize Noah's booster chair is turned out away from us some so I turn it in towards the table.

Chris- "Why'd you turn his chair in like that?"

Me- "So he can see us, he was facing away."

Chris- "But he can still turn his head that way and not see us."

Me- (For the sake of ending this never-ending argument) "Okay, Chris, yes he could."

Chris- "I know why you turned his seat!"

Me- "Why's that?"

Chris- "Because you love him."

--------
I told Chris this morning that Nana had gone to the hospital because she wasn't feeling good.

Me- "Make sure you think & pray for Nana alot today, ask God to take care of her."

Chris- "But why? Is she going to go up in heaven?"

Broke my heart to bits. (She's not going to heaven, she's doing okay!)

--------
Chris is nearly 4 & thinks he rules the world at this point, a constant battle for us. Here's a sampling....although you'll miss the real-life attitude that goes with it.

Chris- "I want some juice."

Me- "First of all, you need to ask nicely. Second of all, you just had a whole cup of juice, you don't need anymore."

Chris- "But I WANT some!"

Me- "I'm sorry, you're not getting any."

Chris- "You know...you think you know everything but you DON'T!"

Me- "Christopher, I'm your mommy & I know best."

Chris- "Oh oh yeah?? So..where's the sky?? And where's the lights? And the street? (etc etc etc)"

I guess to be grown up, you must know where all important objects are.

Blog Bash 2010 with Not Your Average Teen!

Blog Bash

Found this 18 year old's blog through the blog bash and she is just fantastic!! She is definitely "not your average teen". You gotta check Brittany out and join her Blog Bash!

On to my intro....
That pic is a couple months old but it's the closest I got besides crappy webcam ones.

I'm a 22 yr old mommy of 2 rockin lil boys. I work full-time in a pharmacy, studying at the moment to be a CPhT. I've been married for almost 5 years and I'm a stressaholic.
I like to read but don't really have the time. I love blogspot because most blog posts are short & to the point and I don't have to even find a bookmark.
I like ketchup on my scrambled eggs, cream cheese on anything, and I'm a candy fanatic. Hmm, could be why I can't lose weight...
In person, I'm shy when I meetcha & I'm not too sure why. After a little bit, I open right up and have fun. I won't deal with backstabbers or game players. I'm up front & to the point. If you don't like it, I won't miss you.... :P
I'm a Christian & I'm proud of it. I love the Lord & I don't know what I'd do without Him!

As for my kids- Chris, he's the spitting image of his daddy. He's spunky, silly, so smart, & way too active for his own good. He'll be 4 in a couple weeks & I just can't believe it!

Noah is my little sweetie. He loves people, he loves to be cuddles, he's a lil show-off & loves music & dancing! He will be 2 in December, I wish he'd stop growin up!

Now that you know a lil about me...

1. Why do you blog?

Now to be honest, I just started really blogging uhhmm, like 2 weeks ago? But I'm so in love. I can speak what's on my mind & not worry about insulting anyone. Hey, you come to read my stuff, right? I'm so amazed by this blogging world. It's my new outlet!

2. What do you blog about?

Pretty much anything. I have no boundaries. I don't want to limit myself to just one subject. I've never been like that with anything...that's probably why I can't decide what I really wanna go to school for.

3. What do you find to be the biggest reward you get from blogging?

So far, I'm not positive. Knowing that I actually might be interesting to a few people is pretty rewarding though. :P

4. How long have you been blogging?

Like I said, I think it's been 2 weeks? Maybe a little longer.

5. Let's hear the story behind your blog title! :)

It's pretty simple. The funniest thing is that I wasn't even sure I was gonna stick with this & I honestly thought I could easily go back & switch the name if I changed my mind. Guess what? You can't. Ha! But it makes me love it even more! It was the very first name that came to mind, I didn't think too hard about it & I like decisions like that. I'm an everyday mama, plain & simple!

Thank you so much for reading & I'm glad I could participate in this!

I need housewife HELP!

Can I have an AMEN??? Nanny, check. (But basically only when I need to cook or something), oh yeah and a cook who can help me on that whole area, but only so I can clean more. Yes, and then a cleaning lady to keep up on all the little things that pile up. But just so I can play with the kids more! Right??? I guess that leaves nothing. Hm...not sure that would work out....

But really?? I need help. Really really do. I can't BELIEVE I actually thought that staying home with my kids (I only had 1 at the time, too!) was "hard"? I laugh at myself now. I sure was stupid. I had all day to clean, all day to run to the store, all day to plan my dinner & maybe even marinate the steaks, all day to clean up...naptime was plenty of time to get caught up on everything. That was the. life. I miss it soooo much.

It sure would be nice if all of us mommies had the luxury of staying home. Once you start working though....you better hope you never wanna stop because it's pretty much impossible. Well, unless you don't even technically "need" the income. Trust me, my butt wouldn't be workin at crappy Walmart if I didn't need it! Ohhh believe it! I know, it sure is hard to believe I don't love Walmart.

Thank the Lord we don't have to wear those stupid things.

My weekends off are my favorite (which I only get twice a month) because I get SO many things done, I usually get to actually cook once or twice...or even ALL the meals! SHOCKER. I put away piles of mail & important papers, I pay some bills, maybe even spend time with my kids...ugh. This job sucks the life outta me. Walmart has a way of doing that to anyone though, for reals. My reg. schedule is as follows--Work 8 freakin days straight...then 1 day off...then work 1 day...then 1 off...then work another day...then off a weekend. Oh YEA and then on for another 8 DAYS!!! AGHHHH!!!

Kay, done ranting now. I kinda totally forgot what the main point of this post was but I believe it had something to do with needing help with recipes? How did this tangent get started?

Anyone have any great websites for SIMPLE recipes, like that I could accomplish after work while 2 hungry kids scream at my ankles? Or maybe some you already have written down somewhere? please, please, email me or post here! This woman is losing her mind.

GTKY Sunday!

I had such a wonderfully relaxing day with my hubster today. We haven't gone out together with just US in quite some time, been at least 4 months. We walked around the mall and window shopped, went putt-putt golfing & rode go-carts, then headed to Outback for some dinner. Ahhh, back to work tomorrow after a 3 day weekend, I'm bummed but I put a good end to the weekend anyway.

On to the questions....
This is my fav meme! I can't miss it.
If you wanna join in, head to Keely at Mannlands & grab the questions, then link up!

1. What is YOUR definition of sexy?
A sense of humor, warm big hands, strong shoulders, & sensitivity is all a dream of mine
But as for looks, my hubby fits the bill.
Now as for my dream celebrity men...
dane cook, yes please. all of the characteristics i listed above in one hunk of man.

2. Would you rather clean up puke or change a poopy diaper?
POOP. Poop hardly even smells to me anymore compared to stinky vomit. Ugh, I can't take it.

3. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
Hm kinda hard to answer. People always think I'm shy when they meet me so I guess I'll say introvert but as soon as I get comfortable, I'm definitely an extrovert! I love to have a good time.

4. If you had to give up one of your 5 senses for a year..which one would you give up?
Taste! Yeah it sure would suck but hey, I'm sure I could lose weight so easily!

5. Cake or Pie?
Cake for sure. Not sure why but I'm not a big pie lover.

6. If you could play any character on TV (old or current) who would you play?
Can I play someone on The Hills for awhile just to have a good time in California?? Ha! Honestly I have no other better answer. So sad.

7. My favorite website is.....?
Facebook, OHH how I love you.

8. The highlight of my day is....?
Seein my babies run to me yellin 'mommeeee!!' when I pick them up from the babysitter after work :)

Gum isn't healthy for your belly.

How old were your kids when they could chew gum without swallowing?
I've known several 2 yr olds that could manage to chew & spit it out
when they were finished.

As for my nearly 4 yr old....uh nope.
I had been givin him a piece about every 4 months or so just seein
if he could handle it.
Every time I would explain in detail about gum *not* being food
and that it is *not* meant to be swallowed
so if he was done, to spit it out and give it to mommy.

Within a few minutes, if the gum were lucky enough to make it that long,
it would be gone.

We have a "candy man" (Chris' nickname)
at our church who has a bucket full of candy for after church at the exit.
Chris usually always goes for a lollipop but opted for gum today.
He said, "I'm not gonna swallow it."
I chuckle. "Okay, we'll see."
He shovels it in & I await the imminent swallow.

We are on the way to Papa's house & he announces from the backseat,
"Gum isn't hell-fey for your belly"
Me- "Oh really?"
Chris- "Nope! And I'm still chewin it!"

He's too funny. He kept it in until I asked him to finally take it out to eat.
Finally.
Almost 4 and he can finally chew a piece of gum.
Now if I could get him outta night-time pull-ups....

Hives!!

I have hives & I can't get rid of them! They've been here for 3 days now, HELP!

Back in Feb, my son got ringworm from his babysitter's (now EX-babysitter) & I got this itchy patch on my arm which I assumed was ringworm. I tried all the remedies I could and it never went away, kept getting worse. I even put bleach on it (eek). Finally I went to the DR and he said that was NOT ringworm and quit putting stuff on it, ha! It was an allergic reaction.

I was shocked. I have never had any allergic reactions on my skin, all I have is hay & pollen allergies. So it was hard for me to eliminate what the problem could be. Finally figured out it was Purex detergent & then still, I thought it could also be Hemp tanning lotion. So I quit using both after 3 weeks of constant hives & they finally went away.

Well a few days ago I decided that well, ya know, I'm super pale & maybe I should try the Hemp lotion....because after all, I think it was just the detergent anyway that caused the hives. What could it hurt?

Bad bad Megan. Stupid Megan. It started 3 days ago and has not gone away. How can an allergic reaction last that long is what I wanna know?!?! Does the lotion seep into my bloodstream and stay there? What the heck!!

Anyone have any tried & true recipes for relief? I'm going crazy here and I look like I have chicken pox. So embarassing! I just read an article online that suggested calamine lotion or aloe vera gel & I have both so I'm gonna go give them a go.

Wish me luck!

What a hot hot day.

Ughh it is ssssooo horrible out today, like 92 and H.U.M.I.D. I'm so jealous of you peeps who have central AC. I'm upstairs right now and I'm suffering so sorry if this is short. I only have AC downstairs and my computer is in a hole in the wall upstairs, literally.

That's what I hate about Ohio...or maybe just the north in general. Not sure about that. I was born in AZ and man, the heat is sooo nice. No humidity!! Just heat, I can handle that. The sticky, sweaty feeling gets old very quickly.

I finally get a day off tomorrow! This week shouldn't be too bad with work, I get tomorrow off and then a 3 day weekend! That never happens!

I'm having a garage sale here at my place with my mom and a couple friends on Friday, hopefully I can make a few bucks. It's so ironic because it hasn't rained for a week which is pretty unheard of in Ohio and no rain in sight all week....until guess when?? Friday. Let's just hope it holds off until AFTER the garage sale. I never ever get Fridays off! This is my first one in 5 months.

What was with the crazy people today coming to Walmart? Seriously, folks, just stay home if the heat is bothering you because I don't need the anger rubbing off on me. So many people yelled at me & gave me attitude today, I thought I was gonna lose it on one of em. This lady grates on my nerves like a block of cheese & she was pushing it today. I straight up told her she was 'WRONG' and had to leave for lunch for fear of punching her. Walmart is definitely where the crazy people go when there's nothing to do.

Boy I wish I was goin on vacation this year. The closest we're gonna get is going to the Pittsburgh zoo for Chris' birthday at the end of the month. I'm excited! He's never been & I haven't been in yeeeeears.

Well, tomorrow looks like lots of laundry, dishes, garage sale pricing, and MORE...what fun! Just hoping it's not as hot as today! Good night!!

GTKY Sunday!

Happy 4th of July bloggy buddies!
Hope it's great!
It is (surprisingly) a gorgeous day here in NE Ohio.
I can't remember the last time it didn't rain on July 4th, been quite a few years!
I worked 10-6 today but the Rph let me off 3 hrs early, it was d.e.a.d. in there.
Yay for gettin out of there...not so yay for my paycheck.
ehhh whatever.

Here's my GTKY questions this Sunday....
If you'd like to answer em too, head on over to Mannlands
copy & paste
and head back to link up!

1. What do you look forward to the most on the 4th of July?
I just love it all! It's one of my fav holidays. It's carefree, happy, warm, cookouts, the smell of charcoal burning, sparklers, fireworks, sprinklers, watermelon. I LOVE IT!

2. Are you a hugger?
Kinda, yeah. With close friends, I'm very touchy feely- hugs, kisses, etc etc.
With strangers, no. ha!

3. What is your favorite BBQ'd food?
That's a pretty impossible question there. I don't think there's any BBQ food that isn't fantabulous.

4. Do you like to watch parades?
I'll go to them if I'm not busy but it's not a priority. My son was in one today though and might be in the local newspaper!

5. Who has stinkier farts...boys or girls?
Uh, my husband. If all men are like him, then boys for sure.

6. Vampires or Werewolves?
I'm so not into the Twilight junk. Corny, teeny-bopperish, just can't find the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel on that one. Never seen True blood or Vampire Diaries though so I won't judge on those.

7. Do you read your horoscope?
No but I think reading the characteristics of each astrological sign is very interesting and accurate! Not into the horoscopes though, they're so funny!

8. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Well, here I am being boring again, I'm really not an ice cream fan. I'd rather have candy!
But if I do have to choose, probably moose tracks or something peanut-buttery.

CoverGirl ShadowBlast Review & Giveaway!

As the big ol' badge mentions on my homepage,
I am a BzzAgent and have been bzz'ing for almost 4 years now.
This means I get to join 'campaigns' and try out all kinds of cool stuff!
A few that are worth mentioning are
Sonicare Flexcare toothbrush & sanitizer (this was my first campaign!)
Crest Dissolving Whitening Strips
Burts Bees Acne Products
Got2b Smooth Operator

and the Covergirl Shadow Blast.

The Covergirl one was one of my most recent and I gotta say, very unique product!
I actually tried both the Shadow Blast & the Shine Blast lipgloss but I'm going to focus on the eyeshadow tool.

Sleek, shiny, pretty and compact! What more could ya want? I got to choose my colors (view all of them here) and I picked "Purple Plum" combo.

It's so simple, great for those of us always on the go. Just pop off the lids, twist them up and apply.
Here's me removing my makeup from today so I can demonstrate. Sorry I'm not more presentable, it's 11pm, people!!
Bare eyes, see??

Okay, now here is the tip of the "rounded" side. This is the base color to apply all over the lid.
It's smooth and creamy texture makes it super easy to glide on. Not heavy or very dark, it's meant to be subtle and sheer.
Now here's the tip of the "pointed" tip, for the creases and also for lining the eyes.
Here's the shot after applying this just to the creases.
And here is after I lined my top lashes with it and I'm finished!
Sorry it's not the easiest to see because it's sheer but it really does look pretty! {It appears that one eye is darker than another...that's just my webcam}
Of course it looks even better when you add some mascara and sometimes I'll even throw on some black eyeliner on my top lashes to really define them.
Covergirl even has tutorial videos to show you even more right here.
Just click the "Smokin Look Demo" link to view.

I was blown away by this new fantastic product so I'm going to be giving one away!

First & Foremost, you MUST be following me (publicly) via Google Friend Connect to participate.

  • Visit Covergirl & tell me in a comment which shade combo you would choose. (+1 entry)
